Frequently asked questions about our overseas relocation service
Frequently asked questions
QI have to move overseas. Can you tell me how much relocation will cost?
The cost differs depending on the services you choose to use. Browse your preferred services, and look at the information page for each one.
Overseas relocation service
QI am not going to relocate, but I do want to send parcels overseas.
Customs clearance for export as unaccompanied goods from Japan is possible only within six months before or after the shipper's departure.(*It is also necessary to clear the import customs clearance conditions at the destination side.) If the above conditions are not met, the customs process will be different, which prevents us from servicing the request as an overseas relocation service.
If you want to ship commercial cargo, contact us through our corporate website.
International Transportation
If you would like to send a few boxes (gifts, etc.), we will check whether we can handle it individually, so please use the following inquiry form.

Full-pack Service
QWhat is the flow for the relocation meeting?
Register at our dedicated overseas relocation My Page, and then have a meeting via chat covering things like schedule plan and document submission.
QHow do I submit the required documents?
If an original copy is required, you must send them by postal mail, but items which can be submitted as a PDF can be submitted on your My Page or sent to us by e-mail. We cannot accept submission on the day of moving due to the laws.
QWill cardboard boxes arrive in advance?
In our Full-pack Service service, our staff will pack parcels on the moving day. If you want to pack items yourself in advance, we can also send you special materials before the moving day.
QCan I pack items myself?
You can pack items yourself in advance, but documents recording the content of parcels must be drafted for exporting and importing customs clearance. We ask that you make memos listing the type and quantity of items in the parcels, do not seal the cardboard boxes, and leave them open.
QWill you pack items other than furniture as well?
We will also pack the items other than furniture, such as tableware and books, on the moving day.
QCan I use cardboard boxes from another company, or boxes I purchased separately?
You can use other cardboard boxes, but we recommend using ours because they are strong enough to be used for overseas shipments.
QHow is the (pre-move) survey conducted? How long does it take?
We can do the survey remotely or on site depending on the family situation and number of parcels. It takes 1.5 to 2 hours.
QWhen will I receive a price estimate?
We will send an estimate generally about two to three business days after the survey.
QCan family members be present during the moving work?
Yes. Especially during the busy season of moving, we may collect your baggage with your family after you leave Japan.
QCan you send parcels even if the foreign residence address has not been determined yet?
If you already have a local business address, we can dispatch your shipmetns from Japan even if actual delivery address has not been determined yet. The person in charge of the destination side will contact you after the shipments arrives, so please inform them of the final delivery address and discuss the delivery date and time.
QI want to set the delivery day at the destination.
Because the number of days required for customs inspection differs depending on the shipments, we cannot set the delivery day in Japan. After the shipments clear import customs at the destination, our local branch will contact you. At that time, you may arrange the delivery date.
QWhen is the domestic delivery date?
For domestic delivery, we will decide the delivery date after calling the recipient after moving. It may take more than 2 weeks.
QDo you assemble furniture and bicycles?
For furniture, our service extends to assembly and installation.
However, our staff cannot disassemble bicycles and furniture that is not intended to be disassembled or reassembled, so we ask you to disassemble and assemble those items yourself if necessary.
QWhat happens in the case of damage, loss, etc.?
Depending on the nature of the damage, we will handle it through insurance. For details, check the insurance policy at the time of contract.
Full-pack Service(Common problems)
Required documents have not been submitted on time before the moving day.
Aim for submitting documents no later than one week prior to the moving day. Depending on the status of your document acquisition process, some submissions may be fine after relocation has already begun, but please understand that we cannot ship out your baggages until the required documents have all been received.
Hazardous or prohibited items have been included in shipment.
If prohibited items or hazardous items are included, we cannot dispatch them. To avoid dangerous or prohibited items, please check the overseas moving guide and customs clearance information first. If there are prohibited items in the package, it will be returned and you will be charged for return shipping.
The number of days required for customs clearance was different from the customs clearance information, so necessary items did not arrive on time.
The number of required days listed in customs clearance information are rough estimates. Please be aware in advance that there may be delays when shipping overseas.
Also, if you have urgent items, please bring them in as carry-on baggage.
I entered the country, but my parcels still have not arrived.
For some shipping destinations, shipping does not start from Japan until the individual who is relocating has entered the destination and certain documents have been acquired. (Example) China: labor permit, Vietnam: work permit, etc. The number days required from pick up to delivery can differ depending on the timing at which the documents are acquired. A representative will give you more detailed information, so make sure to check thoroughly first.
I specified air delivery, but my shipment wound up in warehouse storage.
On the day of moving, we ask you to check the packing list at the end of the work. After the final check, the parcel destination cannot be changed, so please make sure to check carefully.
It is difficult to get a reservation day during the busy moving season.
March to April is a very busy season. Please make reservations early, such as two months in advance if possible.
I have discovered damage, loss, etc.
Depending on the nature of the damage, we will handle it through insurance. For details, check the insurance policy at the time of contract.
Molding or rusting has occurred.
Molding and rusting are not covered for compensation. Before moving, please dry and wipe items well before entrusting them with us.
Self-pack Service
QDoes the number of cardboard boxes have to be measured in units of five boxes?
We can handle shipments in units of a single box, but the fee calculation is in single pack units (5 boxes, 10 boxes, 15 boxes, etc.).
QWhat is the maximum number of cardboard boxes you can ship?
We can ship up to 15 boxes (3 packs). If you may possibly need more than 15 boxes, please use the Full Pack service.
Full-pack Service
QDo I have to decide on the number of cardboard boxes (number of packs) at the application stage?
We will bill you for the number of parcels we pick up on the moving day. It is not necessary to decide at the outset.
QWhat should I do about parcels that will not fit in a cardboard box?
If you prep the item and package it, and if the sum of its three dimensions is within 170cm and the weight is 25 kg or lower, we can take the item.
QCan I send a suitcase as-is?
Yes, but we will pack it as an additional item, so a packing processing fee will be incurred. Also, to allow customs inspection, we require the lock to be unlocked.

Delivery takes 1 to 2 weeks for air shipments and 2 weeks to 1 month for sea shipments.
